The site has incredible water views to the east and south. Our builders angled the kitchen appliance wall to the southeast, thereby blocking out a view of the neighbor’s house. We swung the breakfast area to the east view, and the family rooms to the southern view–each with accommodating outdoor spaces. The formal living room doubles as a library, and upstairs, three bedrooms and a master suite rotate to the views around a two-story, sky-lit stair hall which is anchored at the ends by the office and playroom areas. These rooms are in the round, providing panoramic views and abundant sunlight. The ceilings are treated with various materials to provide scale and tone. The high-gloss white interiors bounce light off the pale maple floors that recall the sandy beaches that sit outside.
